300th Anniversary Celebration of The Arbroath Guildry Incorporation 1725 – 2025

Arbroath Courthouse Community Trust are delighted to host the 300th Anniversary Celebrations of the Guildry.
As part of the celebrations, The Arbroath Guildry will be hosting a special anniversary open day at The Old Courthouse.
The Arbroath Guildry was incorporated in 1725 as a result of a bargain made by the Town Council with the town’s merchants regarding the building of a new harbour to improve trade.
Today, the Guildry acts as a charitable trust and its principal aims and objects are to promote civic pride and community spirit. Its remit also includes arranging or supporting public events, and making grants to charitable organisations or residents to advance education or ambition.
Join us on the 6th of September, 11am – 2pm, at The Old Courthouse, Arbroath.
On the day:
- Find out who The Guildry are and what they do
- See the historic building where it all started
- Meet some of the groups who have been supported by The Guildry over the years
All welcome – entry is free!
